Singer/keyboardist Lonnie Jordan is best known as a founding member of WAR and is still with the group. WAR is one of the most popular funk groups of the ‘70s. The group first appeared on a Los Angeles stage over 30 years ago and to commemorate that, the multi-platinum performs released a new The Very Best of WAR collection. The two-CD set features 34 of their best songs including Why Can’t We Be Friends, All Day Music and Slippin’ into Darkness. The self-described Afro-Cuban rock-jazz-blues band fuses rock, Latin rhythms, funk, blues, jazz and soul into a distinctive sound all their own. After having toured the world, they are set to enter the studio to release their 24th album.
